  • We have been invited to Tripoli to make proposals for the review of the proposed Metro system for the city and related transport, urban planning, heritage and landscape policies. On our first visit we were hosted by the Railways Department and met four then Government Ministers and their senior officials. We were invited to make proposals for initial stages relating to the Metro review and also asked to make proposals for the major site where the Metro is planned to meet the coastal railway at a major interchange. This will be a master planning exercise and development of a business district here could take commercial pressure off the Medina allowing our other proposals for its pedestrianisation and restoration realise its potential as a tourist destination.
  • In January 2013 Michael Schabas, partner in FCP, was again the guest of the Railways Department and represented the BWCP Consortium at meetings and addressed an invited conference about our proposals, which are being considered at the very highest level.
  • The BWCP CONSORTIUM is, as the name suggests, a group of firms with international reputations brought together to carry out the work under the overall direction of BWCP led by Brian Waters (chairman), Mohamed Mekabbati (vice chairman) and Osama Kassem; Mr Kassem is our local Director. Feel free to contact Mr Waters or Mr Kassem.
